Samsung Kies no connection

I am on Windows 7 and I have installed Samsung Kies. I have a Samsung Galaxy y phone. Up until last week it worked great now when I plug in my phone it wont' connect. Can anyone explain. thank you.

Also be sure you have the right version of Kies installed. Kies 3 is for newer Android versions. http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/#downloadWindows

The updated driver will be included with Kies and you shouldn't do that unless absolutely necessary. Let the Kies software update itself and don't use a driver uploaded to a file sharing website.

 

Kies 3 uses driver 1.5.29.0.

 

Then simply update Kies or check to see if it is updated to the latest version. Device drivers are not something you should start telling people to mess with unless totally necessary. And you shouldn't use file sharing websites to obtain them, ALWAYS get them from the software or software distributer. I know that the XDA forums are safe but it doesn't mean you should just download whatever they offer.

No. Sometimes the driver will corrupt and need a reinstall to recognize the phone again. No need to reinstall Kies.
