i want to report this as TRIAL software, information mistakenly says it is FREE,
that is misleading since the program trial lasts 30 days and then starts nagging for registration, and the same info says you have to register, so either you have to pay your registration/license or it is free but it can not be both. this is either shareware or trialware but not freeware (and you cant use all the features until it is registered)

    information on MG page:

    Author: Ronen Tzur
    Date: 2008-04-28
    Size: 373 KB
    License: Freeware
    Requires: Win All
    Downloaded: 19588 Times

    later the same info says:

You may use Sandboxie free of charge for any length of time that you desire. However, if you use Sandboxie for more than 30 days, the software will occasionally remind you to consider paying the registration fee. By doing that, you would show your support for further development and improvement of Sandboxie.

By paying the registration fee of $20 US-dollars you get a life-time registration key to this and and all upcoming versions of the Sandboxie product.

That means its free. You are encouraged to pay for it, but the license agreement does not require it. Thats not typical of trial software. I do not see anywhere that features are disabled after 30 days...where do you see that?

the ability to work with it WITHOUT NAGS goes away after 30 days.
so this is basically nagware, plus commercial use is not freeeither, so none of it is free.

I suppose if I had more time to argue semantics, I would understand why you are so perturbed about this...

I suppose I could go on to say that there is no such thing as free software, unless it is OSS. Thereforce, concluding that almost no software out there labelled as free, is free. Unless of course, the source code is provided.

At any rate, the owners have been notified.

well a little perturbed yes, is not that i cannot use it someplaces (but no longer inside a domain for example) some might argue that domain=enterprise and enterprise=commercial, that is not true either. but anyway i just wanted to point that out so people know for sure that it is not fully functional until you pay for it (that why i say it is not freewre, but rather trialware), i really dont care much about it, i asked the author and he said it is free so then i will do *something* to use it FREE as he says it is.

Were arguing a minute difference. Basically it is software you can use for free forever without a nag, pay 20 bucks for LIFE, rare nowadays, and no nag. An occasional nag is not shareware. Shareware would cease to function. This is the end of the conversation.

A minor correction: The life-time registered version of Sandboxie is now $30 (US dollars). Still well-worth the price in my opinion. Details, including the addtional features that come with a registration, are here:
