Saturday, off for a short ride down south to get my new 1911 pistol. Still can't believe I am going to spend this much on a handgun... But dang, it shoots so well... :-D

 

congrats fred! the 1911 im told though is one of the best firing guns period.

Mine will have night sights. I have shot this gun, and damn, it is worth every dollar. Think of an overclocked gaming rig vs a stock Dell. Yep, it is that good.

I have never spent this kind of money unless buying a car. Gonna go for it. :-D

 

Nice i can relate since my rig is powered by free AMD equipment from my son so i get the gaming pc vs stock anythign equivalent.

although as a .44 caliber black powder 1898 umberto dragoon owner i can say, Hell yes!

Yes Maam, have shot it. It it was crazy accurate. Custom built means they build it by hand vs production guns.

 

I thought the same until I shot it. Got to dry fire one of their Pinnacle guns, those go for almost $8K.

I pray I will never need to pull a gun in ager. but, if I do, I got the:major rig to do it.

Can't wait to get this gun. It fits my hand, like a well worn pair of shoes. Even talked to my favorite holster maker, and he is going to tr to do a one off custom holster for it. Some tasteful bling... :-D

Everyone I know that carries a gun has a drawer full of holsters that did not work for some reason or another. When you find one that makes the 'perfect' one... Plus he is easy to contact, and has great prices. And he will do some custom work for me.

But yeah, I guess it is kinda funny to have a favorite holster maker. :-D

 

Even i have a favorite holster maker but he also re upholsters bike seats, makes knife holders, phone cases, etc. Basically anything leather.

Normally, I would not have been able to afford it either. The stars 'aligned' so to speak, many odd things happened, and I just rode the wave.

 

Is usually a bad wave of problems, but lately I have caught a couple of good ones. And yes, makes you wonder about fate.

 

OMG, this is getting weird. The guy I got the gun from has been talking to my handgun instructor. Nobody knew the relationship untill afterwards. So, the person advising me to upgrade was also, unknown to me or him, talking to the guy selling the gun...

A little box showed up from my favorite holster maker. This one is the same color (he offers Dark Brown or Black) as my other one, but it is darker. Jason told me the color varies by the cut of leather. Is not a problem, won't be wearing both of them at the same time. :-D

Hopefully soon I can talk to him about a little more decorative holster for the gun. Am glad it came in early enough for me to get it broken in. Plan on attending 2 handgun classes next month.
