    Third party drivers:
    SATA
Large drive support for over 160gb (something like that)
Press F6 for third party drivers and large drive support at beginning of set up when directed only have acouple of sec's to do so.
    Youll need them on floppy.

what mobo are you running is onboard sata
I have two mobos with sata onboard, Asus and Gigabyte the drivers for sata are on the CD, but you have to extract to floppy (folders must be un zipped before load to floppy) Abit, comes on floppy already, included with mobo.
And for 200gb HDD when loading OS just have to enable large drive support, I believe is all to do there, my largest drive is 80gb.

Latest drivers should be posted at Gigabyte's website for download.

Yes the drivers are on that link :sata raid driver, if ya noticed is too big for floppy, besides need to be unzipped first!
    They could make easier?
give me a moment, I look for mine and see if same for yours, if so Ill send to ya.
If not Ill try to post instructions.

    Mine is not same, but
Open your link appears to be latest: (SATA RAID DRIVER)
at top of page click on: support / motherboards / Technology Guide List
scroll down to bottom of page
click on Manual guide for silicon image SATA
Instruction in there page 6 , might as well read the whole thing.

ya last post Si3112 is base configuration/ Si3112r raid configuration

ok so i tryed to install the drivers (copied the folder onto the floppy; but still no luck) every time i insert the floppy it gives me the "please insert disk named manufactures some poop" I placed the x folder to look like A:/x/files in here should it be A:/files in here ?

  13. Omegamerc

    Omegamerc MajorGeek

Tryed placing all the files as a:/files and its not working either ; should i be using the folder that has a r at the end?

Reading the gigabyte manual for SATA and it says once i hit f6 to insert the floppy and "click" browse (which i cant under the wXP installation). After inserting the floppy it keeps giving me the same "please insert disk named manufactures so n so" then hit enter. I am lost on what to do here anymore.....

    Calm down, youll get it.
First, you have sata drivers on floppy ( when I did mine GA-7VT600 1934,
the drivers I put floppy = all folders had to be unzipped before applied to floppy,
( previous post you have maxtor hdd, if so format with maxblast cd)
    Insert XP cd begin install
    set up will begin
At bottom of screen will say press F6 to install 3rd party drivers SCSI, press when time to do so
    set up continues
you will be instructed to insert floppy and press enter, and follow instructions
there will also be instruction to enable large drive support or something like that, do so, and follow instructions
( not sure but think you may need both folders/files Si3112 & Si3112r on floppy)
    Boot order: floppy cdrom sata
one last question this is new setup, mobo hdd etc.?
if you have more HDD than the SATA disconnect the others untill sata is up and running
If ya or when you get all set up, set boot order to sata first, will make alittle faster boot

Yes of course i unzipped all folders onto the floppy :p the problem is when i get to the point of hitting S to install 3rd party drivers and the "insert floppy and press enter" I get the floppy drive reading for a few seconds then the screen pops up saying "Please enter the floppy named Manufactures installation somthing" Press enter to continue. I dont have a maxblast CD since its OEM. its being detected as a Maxtor 200gb with 194GB of free space.

    Opps!
    boot order
    First: CDrom
    Second: SATA
    Third: Floppy
I hate typing, maybe not best at describing directions, not exactly fimilar with your board, been reading alot about in last day or two, but still want to help, so check it out

    LOOK AT LINK

would also add: when I set up my gigibyte board with sata almost thru it thru window, Gigabyte gives you very little info on setup I even emailed support team, they were kind enough to send sata drivers via email too bad they sent wrong drivers, but what they did send was good directions and with their directions I was able to extract drivers from my mobo cd

Ugh...nothing is F**king working! I tryed my boot sequence to be CDROM SCSI[sata] and Floppy; gets to the wxp install screen and nothing happens with the floppy same old same old. I tryed booting floppy/scsi first but of course that has no avail....... Now this is a stupid question but Is it possible that the cable is upside down? i mean when i insert a floppy and it 'reads' the light turns on but nothing seems to happen..... i have the red strip (of the floppy cable) to the left side of the mobo insert and the red strip continues to the floppy ending on the right side should this be the other way around?......Should i be buying a diff floppy drive? should i grab a hammer by this time? :)

Atempting to post on those forums for me is proving fruitless ; my old account has been 'disabled' (dont even recall registering there) and my new account isnt receiving the confirmation letter to actually post there.....total bummer

Using Rev 7 bios if by any chance you can post there....[and tryed everything theyve said so far]

edit: calling this off untill tomm(got 2 go 2 college and then fly for 2.5hrs); if your able to post for me ther ASUS please do so =) much apreciated for your participation into me not going ballistic on my pc for now :D

Boot order must be, or wont work!
    First CD
Second SATA, if SATA not avaible then would be SCSI

Floppy disk formatted first then load drivers
If you dont have good floppy Drive and disk will be a no go
    Must confirm: good floppy drive/good cable/good connection/good disk/power
In bios the correct floppy drive selected, on post up is floppy drive recognized as what it is

The red stripe is pin ONE left/right dont matter only pin one and red stripe.

tryed that boot order and it didnt work...CD/SCSI[sata]/floppy

Long shot here... the path to the driver files must be typed with backslashes. In your posts you are typing forward slashes.
