Do you know the make and model of your Motherboard as the SATA drivers will come from them or if you have it still the motherboard driver CD that would have been supplied has them on it.

If you know the Motherboard, then goto the site and locate your board and then look for the drivers for that board and download the SATA drivers if you dont know what motherboard you have then download Everest ( Free ) once installed click Computer and Summary and the boards name will be listed under Motherboard > Motherboard Name

once you have them you then need to pop them onto a floppy.

In the downloaded files for the SATA Raid drivers their should be a file named "txtsetup.oem", that also needs to be included on the floppy for the driver to install.

I have just downloaded a copule of the different SATA drivers that ASUS use on that mobo the VIA and Promise ones and the "txtsetup.oem" files is included.

are you also hitting F6 at the start of the install procedure, it does move very quickly past the point it tells you to hit F6 to install 3rd party SCSI or RAID drivers ( you need reflexes of a cat ) ?

Check to see if your cables are connected properly to drive & mobo.
You did connect the power cable, wright?

    Is SATA enabled in BIOS?
What is your Boot order set to? should be something like Floppy/CD/SATA
If you have other HDD's other than your SATA that your trying to install Windows on, disconnect them till OS is installed.

Is your HDD retail? if so use Data Lifeguard tools CD ( comes with retail if you bought OEM drive you can download Utility here at MG or WD's web), you can run diagnostics or even use it to format your HDD.
If the Utility cant see your HDD & it's connected properly & Bios is configured properly, your Drive is dead, RMA it.
(running the utility may be required before RMA)
