Sata dvd burner problem

    Ok i have this problem with my dvd drive: 5.25" SATA DVD Buner/Rw ASUS Light Scribe DRW-2014L1T Dual Face

    Ok so basically the computer seems to recognise it but recently when i insert a disk it will not atuo load and i can not run things from the discs, so basically it is not recognises dvds. any ideas or should i return it?

    It's not necessarily the drive.

    What are you doing to access the discs?

    If you put a disc in the drive, then right click the drive in "my computer", are you able to
    access the data by selecting "explore"?

    Ummm it just keeps saying no disc inserted in E drive when i have tried inserting quite a few discs please any other suggestions?

    The lightscribe burners seem to have a lot of problems like that. You may have to just bite
    the bullet and replace it. I would for sure go with a non lightscribe unit on the next one you get.
