    Hi guys
    hopefully someone can help me

The problem is that my second SATA hard drive* was installed and working on vista 32-bit as my secondary drive then my pc froze, i had to turn it off then when i restarted the hard drive had disappeared from windows, so i checked bios and it wasn't being detected, so i tried unplugging it from its SATA port on the MOBO and booting up with just my main SATA drive**, then shutdown and plugged the 2nd drive back in, the drive came back and worked for a while but disappeared again, i changed its port and did the previous procedure a few times and sometimes it would come back for a bit.

But now it has disappeared and won't come back, it is also not detected by bios, i can feel the drive vibrate so it has power and i am pretty sure the drive works fine, cause my last secondary SATA drive*** also had this exact same problem.

*The problem sata drive is a Western Digital 1.0TB (WD10EADS)
**The main sata drive(which works and has windows vista 32-bit) is a Seagate 1.0TB (ST31000333AS)
***The old secondary sata drive is a Seagate 500GB (ST3500320AS)

    My PC specs are:
    MOBO: GA-P35-DS3P
    CPU: Intel core 2 duo E6850 3.0ghz
    RAM: 4 sticks of Kingston 1gb 800mhz
    GFX: XFX 8800gt 512mb
    Storage: ST31000333AS
    DVD: Lite-on DVDRW (IDE)

Thanks in advance for any help

just because a drive spins doesn't mean it works fine sounds like hard drive failure to me.

i said i think it works fine cause the last drive had the same exact problem, and when i said i can feel it vibrate so it has power i was pointing out that the issue isn't power.
BTW tested it on another pc and it worked fine after the pc ran a disk check at startup and the drive still has all my files, so im pretty sure its a mobo or drivers problem, with something to do with 2 sata drives conflicting.

I have the same problem with my first (and only HD). I returned to a frozen Vista computer, so I turned it off. After that, the bios stopped detecting it. The drive does spin, and the cd-rom and peripherals function. But all the SATA configs are set to "none" in BIOS.

    Hell, it's a Dell :(
