In my "adventures" in trying to install a Seagate SATA drive, I'm come
across something that would help. A SATA Motherboard Controller file.
I've contacted ASUS, being they're the manufacturer of my MOBO, and
they said they "couldn't help with this. I'd have to contact the
manufacturer of the BIOS (AMI) " [Wouldn't the Motherboard Controller
be associated with the motherboard ?]
Just out of curiosity, I contacted AMI, relaying the info I got from ASUS.
They said, somewhat the same thing, "contact the motherboard
    manufacturer (ASUS).
I've pretty well covered the internet in searching for a SATA Motherboard
    Controller file.....nothing.
I'm disgusted in the way ASUS treats its customers.
In my search for information pertaining to my M3A78-EM motherboard, I
came across numerous complaints against ASUS. One report said that
a woman, with a non-functioning computer, reported the incident to the
Better Business Bureau. As far as I know, ASUS wouldn't budge. Still
    wouldn't do the right thing.
Anyway.........I'm running out of resources for checking on information
    to solve this dilemna.
