SATA Problems

    My motherboard will not recognize my New Samsung 80gb SATA HDD.

    1. Power is on
    2. connected to MB
    3. jumpers not connected

    What is my problem!??????!?!?!

    Please respond post haste.

    What mobo are you using. Some mobos require you to enbable SATA support via jumpers on the mobo it self.......are those the jumpers you speek of?

    Is this the only HDD on the rig.
    New HDD must be formatted.
    When you install windows you need 3rd party drivers (sata drivers from mobo cd) on floppy, longer story short Insert bootable windows Cd at begining of set up press F6 for 3rd party drivers and follow instructions.
