SATA RAID Drive Problems

About 6 months ago I bought a new computer that has 2 80gig SATA drives. Yesterday I went to reformat and I couldn't get the XP cd to reconise the harddrives. So I went into BIOS and disabled the SATA drive support, which after many hours of trying to get the XP installation to pick up my floppy drive with the proper SATA drivers on it was the only thing that let me reformat. Now, I have all my drivers installed but when I go to enable the SATA drive support in the BIOS, the computer wont start up. It just loads a black page with a blinking dash sign. So I went back into BIOS and disabled it again. Now everything works but it only picks up the one harddrive and not both. I can find it under the hardware tab in system options, but they arn't SATA anymore, just SCSI drives
Both drives are Fujitsu MHV2080BH 80Gig drives that run at 5400 RPM. Alienware m7700 notebook, the Operating System is Windows XP OEM Home with AMD X2 DuelCore Athlon 64 4200+ processors. The motherboard is a Clevo d500k with VIA K8T890 chipset

Any advice or help would be much appreciated. I really don't want to have to reformat, and even if I had to I wouldn't know how to get windows to pick up my harddrives. I hope theres a way to do this that might just involve reinstalling windows.
