SATA Raid, want to add third HD

I have an ASUS P4P800-E with onboard raid. 2 SATA HD's level 0 (performance). Can I add a third HD on the IDE channel? When I put third HD in, the computer sees my raid SATA HD's as half of their actual size. Am I missing something in the configuration, or am I trying something that can't be done with this hardware?

Yes, I already have the RAID HD's set up with windows installed, and am attempting to add a third drive.

Are you adding a third drive to the RAID array and going to a RAID 5 config or are you adding a second drive with your RAID array as the first drive and the IDE drive as the second dirve?

 

I want to add a second drive with the RAID array as the first drive, and the IDE drive as the second (slave) drive.

 

As you can see below I am using an ASUS Motherboard and the on-board SATA RAID controller. During set-up I loaded separate RAID drivers provided by ASUS and then setped through the config to set up the RAID 10 config. I justed installed another drive on the IDE bus and it came up without an issue.

I can't tell you what you are doing wrong but it sounds like a driver or config issue. According to one of the engineers that works for me, ASUS has a free Tech Support line. He said they are great. I would suggest calling them.
