I have a 500GB SATA drive that I am trying to install as a slave. the computer is an Acer Aspire M1640 running XP home. If I install the HDD along with my current 320 GB drive (the one the OS is on) the computer boots up as usual, but doesn't recognize the second drive, either in the BIOS or in Windows. If I install the 500GB drive (slave) by itself, the computer freezes at the POST screen and won't go any further. Is there something I'm missing here or is the new HDD cooked? Thanks.
