SATA set up

I have to set up SATA drivers as slaves in a work system 4 or 5 times a day, I have to go the the device manger and scan for new hardware ever time, now is there a some .bat i can make to help speed this up any. any thing to save 30 sec thanks for any help.

 

Do they just need setting up on restart, or do they just stop working?

Maybe you could put a shortcut to the scan (or as close as you can get, like the device manager) in the startup items or on the desktop, so you don't have to browse folders to find it? I guess it would be better to have something that sets them up without a scan, though...

If they stop working, maybe there's a way to prevent it, like finding what happens just before thay stop? Sorry I can't be more helpful. I don't have SATA drivers.

 

ok maybe i should add some more info. I do a lot of data back up and most the time i just add the drive to my system to do it so i have to restart or run the device manager scan so i can cut and copy for it i was looking for a batch file to do the device manager scan to save some time IDK if this even be done. but i just need a device manager like scan to find the HDD as I add them.


P.S. sorry i has half a sleep in the frist post i hope this makes more scenes.

 

I googled and found s similar question here also. The shortcut path may be different than %windir%\system32\devmgmt.msc for you. On mine, device manager is a dll file. Not sure if this helps much...
