I have very slow transfer of files form one partition to other.... If i start transfering of a file, let as say 700mb, he is starting the transfer from 35-30MB/s
and very fast going on 3-5MB/s transfer
my network work perfect with full 10MB/s transfer
    solution?

    Thanks

if your network is over 10mb it will never exceed that amount even though is may report 35mb.

10 mb/s network? Sounds like old hardware. Usually most networks are 100mb/s min.

Though, what else is going on during this transfer is another thing altogether. Are you the only one on this network?

if yu're really transferring from one partition to another on the same drive (dont know why you referenced your network? ) then it will naturally be slow. If you are trying to read and write ont eh same drive, it has to do double the work, which means it will take twice as long.

Ok never mind, forget the network, stick to the partition2partition problem, do any have same problem ?

Like "Years to come" said....if you are moving information from one partition to another, and they are on the drive...then the drive has to work twice as hard and is therefore going to slow it down!!

It has to retrieve some information and then place it in the new location, then go back and get another little bit of information and then place that in the new location, and it keeps going back and forth until it gets all the information from one location to another, which like I said, will slow it down quite a bit!!

Also, try turning off index server, this can/will slow down hdd performance. Especially when transferring lotsa files.
