All my system specs are posted below.

I just tried to reinstall windows, and for some reason my motherboard can not see my two 36.6GB Raptors when they are plugged into the sata_raid connectors. However, it can see them when plugged into the standard Sata connectors. My motherboard also wont let me get into the sata_raid configuration anymore, only the sata configuration. Any thoughts?

Well, even the motherboard cannot see the drives, so it can't be drivers. Also, earlier this morning I discovered that 2 of my PCI slots are also no longer operational. I have a good feeling that I'm going to be buying a new motherboard.

No, the software that you install generally has no impact on the motherboard or the BIOS. But, in this case, I think that something may have shorted because I DID have the case open when I was working, and there is quite a bit of customized wiring in there, however, I don't know what happened; everything was plugged in as it should be..

is SATA RAID enabled in the BIOS?

Yes. However, it dosen't seem like there is as many options in the BIOS for RAID as there was before...

Have you tried clearing the CMOS? If this doesn't work it could be that you have shorted something out or have a faulty motherboard. I had a similiar problem where windows setup would hang if I had RAID enabled in bios. I RMA'd my board back to ASUS and turns out it was the motherboard. All is well with the new one no troubles at all. Call ASUS and get an advanced RMA and overnight your board you will be charged but they will refund it once they receive the defective one.

With 2 PCI slots dying at the same time, it sounds like it may be the motherboard itself. You might try downloading a fresh BIOS file from ASUS and reflashing the BIOS from a floppy just to make sure it's not BIOS data that's corrupt. But sounds like the motherboard.

Thanks for the input everyone, I am going to go to ASUS, and have them replace it, apparently there is a 3 year warrenty on the board.

GT: I just reflashed the BIOS after reading your comment, still the same problem. Thanks again!
