    do you guys know of any software that would take a satellite picture and autodraw a map of it given some specifications.

    Not sure If this is some thing your looking for. This is a screen shot using Google earth. For more details you would have to zoom in and take a screenie. You can get state wise boundaries. National and state highways etc. Really don't use GE much, I'm sure the gurus here can elucidate a lot more..
    Hope I'm in the right direction :-D

    no not that, what i mean is (using that same picture for example) the software would be able to zoom in closely and draw out a map of the roads and rooftops and stuff like that which would allow you to get a map (like a travelling map). hope i explained it good enough.

    Ok, Google Earth can do that. Zoom in. GE has an options for direction from ABC to XYZ.

    I'm sure there will be a way to get close to what you want, but all GE's images are copyright. You sure you want to do this? ;)
