Did the Toshiba come with Windows 10 or Windows 7?

Its time to grasp /Win 10 for 7 will not be supported for much longer.

If you insist on running an old, outdated OS that does not receive updates......your wishing :)

@plodr No it didnt come with windows 10 it auto updated to it and we reverted it back because the laptop couldnt run windows 10 was to slow.

@Replicator if you want to be helpful with the topic its one thing but giving your opinion on what OS is better wasn't needed thanks for your reply.

How did you revert back to Windows 7?
If it was within the 2 week period, then it should be the same as before the upgrade. (I think it was a month in the beginning but now I think the time frame has been reduced.)

If you did either a restore to factory or used an image, then you need to be sure that you have all the Windows updates.
Also go to the Toshiba site and be sure you have the correct drivers for Windows 7 for your model.

    I beg to differ Replicator.
    That is not accurate.
Here are updates for Windows 7, October 2018.
    https://www.ghacks.net/2018/10/09/microsoft-windows-security-updates-october-2018-release-overview/
The last patches for Windows 7 will be issued 14 January 2020.

Some of us wish to continue to run out Windows 7 computers on the internet until February 2020.

@plodr no it was after the two week period. I used factory restore. went to toshiba got the update from there it installs but does not show in manager other then that one for the keyboard tract i havent found anything to even be able to install usb keyboard either but usb mouse works.
As i said the arrow keys and F keys and enter works in bios but they do nothing on windows itself.

@Stephen_c16 yeah im using the built in version in windows now its such a pain lol

Remove the USB non-working keyboard. Does the inbuilt keyboard work? Does the onscreen keyboard work?

I have my trackpad set to off if there is a mouse attached and since I attach a mouse to all laptops and netbooks, the trackpads are non-functioning.

@plodr the built in keyboard does not work neither does usb keyboards in either port. the onscreen keyboard does work.

If the built in keyboard doesn't work, then you are facing a hardware problem, I suspect. And that's why the track pad might not be functioning either. I'm not 100% positive on that.
If you don't wish to replace the keyboard, then I guess you'll have to use the onscreen one.

We replaced a keyboard in an Aspire One from 2011 last year. We have a great little computer repair shop. He got an original new keyboard for $30 and replaced it for $35. It was well worth the $65 we spent because we like the netbook. Now that I watched what he did, I think I can replace a keyboard in a laptop myself.

See if you can find videos on how to replace a keyboard and look to see if you can find a new or used replacement.

I will still be here when MS drop support for 7 ;)

Only then will you be ripe for the pickings of vulnerability scans!

As a geek, I want the latest of everything, if its available!

My Windows 7 computers will not be on the internet. We still have an XP and 2K computer working - off the internet. So no, my Windows computers will not be on the internet, so we won't pick up the latest malware du jour.

Hello again. I am not sure that this will work.
I have been using a logitech wireless keyboard on a laptop with faulty keyboard.
It works a treat but will cost £25.
Of course if it doesn't work you might get a refund...
