save as file type

hello
when l want to save a picture from a web page, after right clicking the picture and the " save picture as " option, the window "save picture" comes up as per normal but the "save as type" box at the bottom only gives me the choice of .bmp or .art. is there a way l can include other file types like jpeg which the picture l want to save is in?

just want to add that its fine in firefox which the save type option matches the file l am saving but not in I.E 6 which just have those two options...have tried what microsoft said about deleting temp internet files but no good...

 

When you do Save As, the option depends on the type of application that you use.

The browser is Not a paint program the Save As simply save the files as is originally it can not change the format.
