   Hello,
   
   I am going to install win 7 and want to format my hard drive for a clean install. How do I save my outlook emails and contacts to a thumb drive prior to install? Thanks Jeff

   What version of Outlook are you using?
   
   In the main all you need to do is to save the PST by these instructions HERE and HERE
   
   While the above are for OL2003 you will find the same instructions for OL2007 and OL2010

   Better than using Export/Import is just to save your PST file(s), then copy the file to your new system and just open it (Open Data File) from Outlook. (Explort/Import tends to lose some of the original data from the PST file.)
