saving outlook!

Dear Forum,I have a desktop pc which has been problematic for a long time and to cut a long story short ,i decided to buy a laptop and change internet providers.Then throughly clean my old pc to see if it can still be saved.

But,i am currently going through a tribunal and a need to save my emails from old pc outlook to move them across to new laptop.
I know i can save them individually but i have hundreds of important ones and this is taking so long.
Can anyone recommend a free programme that will do this for me?

Also,(if it is ok to ask on this thread) My old pc is XP and the new one is vista.
I want a new internet provider who can provide wireless and cheaper phone calls.
Could anyone personally recommend one?Thankyou

If you're using MS Outlook (from MS Office) browse to C:\Documents and Settings\%YOUR_USER_NAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook and backup all the .pst files you find. (Usually Outlook.pst and Archive.pst.)

Once Outlook is set up on the Vista installation, copy these files to the default location on Vista.

If you have an Internet connection on the Vista machine which is on all the time, temporarally disable the LAN connection while you set up Office/Outlook, then get the copied files in place. Otherwise, once Outlook is set up, it may receive new mail before you get your old files put in place.

The same steps would apply with Outlook Express, but the default file locations would be different, and the files are .dbx instead of .pst.
