I have a number, least 20, PDF files saved under my 'Bookmarks', that I would like to 'save to my Documents' so I don't have to print them out. I would then export them out to my flashdrive, other media for reading when I want to view them. They only allow 'printing' not 'copying' (?) to Documents folder:confused Is there a way to copy them to my 'Documents'? Thanks

Er... Ctrl+S?? If you save a copy on your desktop or documents folder, you should be able to copy/cut and paste them onto your flash drive and just double-click when you want to view them.

Or have I misunderstood the problem?

What navigator are you using? I assume Internet Explorer, so you can go File > Save As, and you can save it normally.

If you can not save like this maybe pdf's are protected to save, so you will have to use a software, tell us your navigator and one pdf link.

Hi, thanks for trying to answer my question. The problem is that I have not figured out how to 'save a copy to my desktop/documents folder':confused. I want to be able to transfer them into my 'documents folder' and be able to access them for reading at a later date offline. How do I do it?

I did 'save' one of the PDFs from my 'bookmarks' on Firefox to my 'Documents' using 'File> 'save page as'. My question is can I now download the PDF to my flashdrive and have it available to read offline? I often come across rather lengthy technical PDFs that I would like to read, but don't have the time when I 'bookmark' them. Such is my desire to place them into my 'Documents' then onto a Flashdrive so I can read them when I have time available and am not online.

:cry:cry:cry I tried the 'File> Save Page As' suggestion for saving 'bookmarked PDFs' to my 'Documents'; only to find out all those hours were spent uselessly because nothing is visible:cry:cry:cry it says 'Firefox is Offline', which was the whole point of my asking the question as I want to be able to read only the PDFs when I DO NOT HAVE Internet Accessrolleyes. Anyone have a real solution to save PDFs to Documents to be able to download to a flashdrive to use while travelling?:confused:confused

NO CLUE, I think what you're needing is something along the lines of these programs:

    doPDF or PrimoPDF

    You only need one.

Install one of those two and then, while in Firefox choose to print the page you're looking at instead of 'Save as'. When the print dialogue box comes up select which ever one of those PDF printers you installed instead of your regular printer. The page will be saved as a PDF document to be read later with a PDF reader like Adobe, Foxit or PDF-XChange Viewer.

To make things simple, you could print(save) them directly to your flash drive.

The 'doPDF' is probably the simpler one to use. ;)

I think this is the answer to my question, and I appreciate your contribution to helping me solve my lack of understanding with computers in general:-o I'm going to use the first one and see how it goes. I don't have a printer currently setup with this laptop.

If you are viewing the PDF within firefox, then pending on version (I'm running 9.3) you can click the disk icon next to the print icon to save the pdf elsewhere. This will bring up a "save as" dialog. You will note that the extension is .pdf.

    Yep, the same with IE8.
