sberet.msi its gone help

Hi I am running xp service pack three, office home edition 2003 with all the up dates my office installer keeps opening up and asks for the file Sberet.msi or installation disc cant find my disc and cant access any office apps

grateful for any help

The Windows Installer is looking for a file that is missing or corrupt. It can be caused by several things, but to correct it you will need to zap the Windows Installer entry in the Registry and reinstall Office.
Obtain the following utility and use it to remove only the reference to Office or you could just let the mr fix it do it for you:

Once that is complete then you'll need to reinstall Office 2003,so you will need to find your Office disc or look to buy one as cheap as possible, or there is always Openoffice which is free and does the same thing as MS Office except it doesn't have outlook express!!!...

Ebay will probably be the cheapest place for you to get a copy of Office...

Hello,
Just a note. If you are a student with a valid .edu address or a high school student you can get Office at a big discount. If you are in the U.S. not sure about other countries.

Edit: after seeing the prices on ebay, I would go with iain.t's suggestion.
