Scanner advice

I'm thinking of buying a scanner which will be used mostly to scan 35mm photos & slides. Was considering the Epson 2480 but have seen that PC World have the Epson P3490 for £60. Is this as good ? Has anyone any experience. Would appreciate your views

Will you be doing more negative/slide scanning than any paper? if so it maybe better to go for a negative scanner rather than a flatbed, negative scanner, albiet are a bit more expensive but give much better quality over flatbeds, especially if they use cold light ( blue ) over warm scanning light (white/yellow) as in normal scanners.

One think to check on those two flatbeds is do they come with a negative/slide attachment ( I notice the Epson P3490 does )?

another thing go to PC world and see if they will let you test the quality out, use your own negatives.

Thanks, lots of photo's but not many slides. I've read good reports about the Epson 2480 but have been unable to find any about the 3490 which is what PC World stocks. Due to delivery and neighbour problems I don't like have home deliveries

Hi
I use a CS5000F Canon scanner and with same can scan 2 slides at a time [negatives and positives]
The scanning is excellent and produces very high quality images
May assist??
