   Recently I havent been able to use the scanner because apparently theres an program that is constantly using the scanner but I dont know which.
   
   I normally use HP Image Zone or Microsoft Picture It! but when I scan a message prompts saying that another program is using the scanner and I end up not getting any images.
   
   The scanner is a hp psc 1310 and the OS is Win XP SP2
   
   I have no idea what is going on... any suggestions?

   See if it is running in your processes ( cont+alt+delete - task manager).
