Scanning Software Advice Wanted

    Hi. I am after a programme, preferably freeware, that will enable me to scan documents into Word or similar. I often get sent paper documents that I need to edit on the PC.

    I am running Windoze XP Home and have a HP combi scanner/printer/fax.

    Any advice appreciated!

    The technology you're looking for is "OCR". your scanner/printer/fax from HP probably came with scanning software. You might be able to get the scanning software from the HP website if you don't still have the disk. I don't know much more because I haven't used OCR in years. Sorry I don't have any other information.
