Scanreg/ Restore

    When I booted up this am, screen had crazy colors and just hung. Did the 3 finger shutdown, got into command prompt and entered scanreg/ restore.
    But this time, I got an explanation on screen of what that meant, rather than the task itself. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Did you try in safe mode and go to last good configuration !!!

    What OS are you using Win98se, 2000 or XP ???

    Clark Using Win98se. And when I did command prompt in safe mode, I got warning that going into DOS while in safe mode could mess up graphics, so I left it alone. Sadly, I know enough about 'puters to be dangerous.

    Your command is SCANREG /RESTORE there is a space after the scanreg !!!

    Did you do it like that ???

    Clark...Thanks....Some folks shouldn't try to do 'puter stuff too early in morning; and I are one of them. Amazing how well things work when ya do 'em right the first time. Thanks again.
