Scans, quits

Seems as soon as one problem is fixed, another takes its place.
Downloaded your 10bit Malware fighter and Smart defrag.
Also downloaded update to Adobe Flash player, then rebooted.
Scan came up and went though system, no anomalies.
When scan ended, screen went black sans hour glass that came on. After about 10 - 15 min nothing had changed.
Rebooted, went through same scenario.
Rebooted, tried to go to safe mode, no response from up down keys, could not select safe mode.
Used XP boot disk to bypass scan on bootup.
Obviously that worked. However even that was extremely slow in transpiring.
I tend to doubt it is your downloads causing the problem, I have used Advanced system care and Quick care for a while with no problems. But, I stuck that in there as it was part of what transpired just before problem came up.

Removed program, computer back to old slow self.
