Scratchy sound question

    Hi, I have this persistent problem, the sound gets scratchy/distorted when I click to open file/web/window and also the machine is slow to react more times than not. I read some were that is a memory problem I have 2gb of RAM 956 free check it with memtest86 no errors next tested the sound and checks out good, updated the driver too, next did the machine maintenance and malware check.
    I reached the end of my limited knowledge....thanks
