Screen blackout after adjusting RAM

Having taken the RAM I wish to replace out of my PC yesterday to check its model number, I today put the same RAM back in.

Alas, the PC has failed to reboot. I just get a black screen and there is no recognition of the keyboard (the LEDs usually light on booting).

The RAM appears to be locked in place correctly and I dont think I disturbed anything else. My only theory is that I gave something a belt of static as I wasn't grounded when working on the pc or handling the components.

    Any suggestions?

LEDs on keyboard and mouse are now lighting but still nothing from the monitor. I have tried a different monitor also to eliminate that possibility.

Open the computer, double check the RAM to see if it is secure and see if the video card is also secure; maybe you dislodged it a bit working on the RAM. Look everything over to be sure that if you had to move wires, maybe even take out plugs that you put everything back the way it was. I'm always afraid I will forget something so every time I open a computer, I write the steps down as I remove things so I don't forget to put something back.
