Screen display too large for Monitor and task bar gone

current on all malware/virus...system is clean

woke up yesterday and screen is extremely large, icons and text barely fit on screen, task bar gone, internet search provide few answers and have tried all i have found.

i can only access command prompt through task mgr., this happened once about a year ago and a friend came over and push a sequence of buttons (ie. ctrl+fn+f4 or ctrl+windows+alt) ive tried a variety but nothing.

also have unplugged/pulled battery and purged machine twice

and in trying to figure this out I have no internet connection on this device as I cant navigate the screen to set back up

I have changed screen resolution to every setting optional and it didnt help

anyone's thoughts ???

What is the exact model of your notebook?

Odd. Sounds like something has happened to corrupt your video drivers, or your video hardware itself is getting flaky.

Have you tried a system restore? Like the most recent restore point before the problem manifested itself? Often with situations like where a driver or other software may be the culprit I suggest a restore . . . more often than not this fixes the issue.

That won't tell you what caused the issue, though. Have you updated any drivers or removed or added any new software recently? Sometimes this can cause driver corruption. Also, mal-ware can cause glitches like this.

unfortunately system restore was never set up (girlfriends computer)

I've check drivers and all say updated and working properly
