screen goes black on power up...

hello everyone, i recently purchased a new motherboard, memory, processor, and video card. after installing everything to the best of my knowledge, i power on the computer and all i get is a blank screen, no bios. all the fans are on, just no bios.

there doesn't appear to be any other connectors for my video, just the pci-e port, and i took it out and put it back 3 times.

asus p5n-e sli motherboard

pentium duo core 2.4ghz

2x 1gb kingston memory

geforce 7600 gs (pci-e)

antec 500w power supply

keeping in mind both my drives were using a different setup, so i knew it might not boot, but i dont even have bios yet, i'm not en expert so perhaps i hooked something up wrong?

I recently saw this EXACT same thing happen with all new parts, and it turned out to be a faulty power supply. It was new, just no good Also, try removing everything from the case, and hook it all up on your 'bench' (or table or desk). Be sure to put the motherboard on a peice of plain cardboard, or a clean, dry towel, or some other nonconductive surface. The motherboard box and the peice of foam that was in it works perfectly. Anyway- hook it all up without the hard drive or CD drive, and with one stick of memory and go from there....

the power supply worked just fine before, and i tried setting it all up outside the case and i got the same result.

perhaps the memory is bad? brand new doesnt always mean its gonna work.

any ideas?
