Screen goes black

I'm running XP and when I turn on my computer after everything is loaded up and ready to go, my mouse starts to skip. You move the mouse and the arrow doesn't move, then, it moves! I can't click on anything I want to click on without a great deal of effort. on top of that, internet is slow, and all applications run slow too because they don't open or close right away, you'll click the minus, and wait for it to minimize, most of the time it leaves a trail of the window behind. If you drag a window from one monitor to the other, it leaves a trail, and it's hard to do this because of the mouse. Typing, well, when it's acting up, it will type one too many letters every once in a while, but that may be my fault (doubt it though). Then as if you knew it was coming the screen goes black. But not without a little message that says something like error code 14 status off. Which I believe to be something to do with the monitors I have it looks like all the menus the thing has when adjusting the screen, so it is not a windows error. Now a little background on my system. I built it myself so its no make and model your framiliar with, but all the parts should be well known. I can tell you everything that's in there so ask if you need to. But where I think the problem may lie is with either the monitors, or the graphics card. I'm running 2 viewsonic monitors off of an ati 9600 xt all in wonder. Therefore I can deduce that my monitors aren't bad, because it is unlikely that BOTH would break, and do this at the same time, everytime. It could be my graphics card I suppose. Or I could be in the wrong forum, and need to go to spyware. BUT, I ran HJT, Spybot, adaware, and norton antivirus, as well as Ccleaner, and it didn't fix the bug. I suppose I could keep going, but I believe this to be a hardware issue. A few weeks ago we had all the power go out, and it's been doing this ever since, I do have a serge protector so I don't know that this could have done it or not. Sorry for the lengthy entry, but I tried to be as specific as possible for you guys. I know you can help. Thanks.

Ran Pandascan, here is the log. Everest does not work, it keeps freezing up, and my task manager says not responding.

I'm framiliar with doubleclick, but that really can't cause what's going on can it?
For my computer to act up like this has to be a hardware issue right? I've run Ccleaner already, I'll run it again though

My friend had a similar problem with his mouse and I replaced it with a spare I had. The mouse was evidently defective and replacing it solved the problem. Try replacing your mouse and see what happens. Might solve part of your problem (at least with the mouse).

    Crash

I've already posted that I have 3 GB of ram, I'm running XP sp2 and I have changed my mouse. It didn't do anything. Sometimes I'll restart my computer and have no problems at all. and then sometimes it goes crazy. I noticed today, and I don't know that this happens everytime, but my CPU usage is at 100% when it starts acting up, and programs like firefox, while checking my email, are the programs causing it to be so high. It should never take up that much memory.

Curiouser and curiouser ....do you have any errors in event viewer - system or applications?
Firefox does take a lot of memory when it starts...

Have you tried updating or reinstalling your graphics card drivers?
