    Hi,
we have bought a new laptop about 2 months ago and yesterday I installed a new program on it. When I tried to start it, it didn't work. So i tried to reboot the laptop but just before the screen goes to the welcome "page" the screen goes blue, and stays blue.

I've tried to let it load, but after half an hour nothing has changed.
I've also tried to start windows in save mode, didn't work..
I've also set the computer's settings in default mode. (in the setup menu by pressing F12 first.. [and i actually havn't changed the settings ever but i put 'm in default just in case some settings changed.])

    OS: Media Center Edition 2005

Ouch, well a old stand bye with "Laptops" is to remove the battery, wait awhile reinstall battery and reboot to "Last Know Good Configuration" or "Safe Mode". Hope that Helps and Welcome to Major Geeks

Tell ya what Marco, it looks a bit like my problem when the hard drive died, but I think in your case it's a problem with the OS not starting properly because it's got corrupted or virused. If you haven't got a boot-sector virus checker the only way I know to fix this is to wipe the HD & re-install the OS.:cry

That's cr*p firstly because the laptop is just 2 months old and there is a lot of homework saved on it!! :( :cry

    I need more advice...
Is there any way I can fix it through the Bios SETUP?

Does the BIOS recognise that you even have a hard drive?

Yes it does, everything in the bios lookst just fine.
I'm not familiar with doing stuff in the bios but i can tell that there is a HDD recognised/found

OK so it has to be an OS problem. If you've got a fixed CD drive there's a program out there called ERD Commander which will boot your PC up just like windows and allow access to all your files, and make repairs etc.:)
