You can barely seen the windows on the screen, but they are their? Virus, Malware, or do you think the video card is going bad?

when you say barely see, you mean it's faded/hard to see? or just not there, but you know it's working?
have you tried to adjust the monitor settings or hook up another?

The windows are faintly on the screen. I hooked up another screen and I can see everything on the other screen. By the way, this is a laptop. I tried adjust the settings. Sometimes when I boot up, it stays on for a few seconds and then go's dim

ok, different story....it's a backlight issue for a laptop, and unfortunately i don't know enough about it to help you out...hopefully someone else reads this and helps.

one suggestion, do you have any function keys to adjust the brightness of the screen? if so can you brighten them up?
also, have you changed any of the power saving features related to the brightness? check that as well
