    Motherboard: Asus 890 GX
    GPU: GeForce GTX 460 Sonic
    PSU: Coolermaster 620w True Power

If I have the GPU plugged in the PCIE2 slot, the screen won't turn on. Tried swapping the output from the internal GPU and the Geforce one, but it doesn't do anything. Hints?

Cannot see one. Though I saw a 'default graphics device' or something. Turning it to 'onboard' allows me to boot with screen working even with the GPU plugged in. Now looking for driver problems.

I installed a graphics card in my emachines desktop and had to change settings in BIOS to "onboard graphics".

I have the drivers now installed, but the card doesn't give any output...

They say nothing about nVidia support on this board at all.

Umm, so should I take my Geforce card back to the shop and change it to a ATI card?

    Hello,
It seems that you can add an Nvidia card but if you want to take advantage of the Hybrid advantage of using both integrated and graphics card, you need an ATI card.

The question of adding a Nvidia to this motherboard was answered here.

You will find some added info here about the Hybrid technology.

Where should I disable the internal GPU? In Windows or in BIOS?
In the 'chipset settings' submenu I find:
'Primary Graphics Adapter' with options Onboard, PCI Express and PCI.
'Internal Graphics Mode' with options UMA, SIDEPORT and UMA+SIDEPORT.
    What should I do now?

I believe you would set the Primary to PCI-express. By not selecting Onboard, that should disable your integrated graphics. There should be some extra information in your motherboard manual. Also, you might want to ask over at the ASUS board in the motherboard forum. You might want to think about using an ATI card instead.

Yay, it works now. Though, one possible problem was that I had plugged my monitor into the wrong hole of the GPU :D

Umm, is the southbridge controller supposed to work at 125C?
