Screen scrape / Com sniffing in VB

    I was wondering if any know how I could get data from a form on the screen?
    It is a VB app, I dont not have the source, but there are 2 fields I need to collect data from. So instead of running the app & have to right the info I'd like to capture it and save it. (No screen shots - to wasteful).
    The other option, if I cannot 'screen scrape' is to capture the data as it is communicated between the app and the com port, maybe??
    Any ideas?
