Geeks, I have 2 Plasma screens sitting here at work and I can't use them... here is the issue.

We have a URL that we monitor that refreshs every 60 seconds. There are 2 of these URL's that are in 2 IE windows that are cascaded. We want to put these up on the plasma, but not burn in and mess up the plasma, right now they on a 13 inch TV thats hard to see. They said I could move it if I came up wiht a solution. I need something that will run like a screen saver in the background, and moves the windows around or something... You guys know as well as me that 2 plasma screen going to waist is just that... a waist.


Please hold off on the "Send it to me, I will put it to use" jokes... I already go tthem all covered.

 

So my question.... Is there some software out that will do this for me?

 

Well, what you could do is have a HTML file at will load the desired url, and move the window 10 pixels each way every 30 seconds or whatever. I could write that for you... if you think it would be appropriate.

 

Goldfish, thanks for the offer! So if I make the windows cascade horizontally (one on top of the other) The top on is about 3/4 of the screen in length and the bottom on is about 1/2 the screen. Since I can't edit the html, I guess we could use frames and use your code in the frames. Would that work? If I also autohide the taskbar, if there anything else I should worry about?

 

Yes, it should, but as they moved the edges might go off the screen momentarily if they were stretched to go right across the screen.

As a question... would you load this up once a day? if so, would you mind pasting the url into a prompt box... or should i make it work on cookies so it remembers it each time..?

 

Basically this computer just sits there all day and does this, the TV just goes off over the weekend and at night.


This is the only thing the computer does. We can watch the e-mail queues coming in, we can watch the call queue.
