    Hi All,

I have a user who uses the Solidworks Engineering suite to create manufacturing simulations. He would like software to capture video of this that he can use at a later time. Can anyone make any recommendations? I've found a program called Snagit, that has the exact feature we're after, but the fully functional trial version doesn't work, and I'm not interested in troubleshooting it. Forget the trouble, I'm just going to shoot it. Does anyone know any similar apps?

    Thanks!

For screen capturing a good program to use is Handysnap http://www.wisepixel.com/ . This is similar to snagit in that it will capture an image of what is on the screen and allows you to add text and arrows to it and save it as graphic file that can be shared.

If, however, you want to be able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer and create industry-standard AVI video files and using it's built-in SWF Producer can turn those AVIs into lean, mean, bandwidth-friendly Streaming Flash videos (SWFs) then CamStudio is a good choice. http://www.majorgeeks.com/CamStudio_d4646.html
