screwed up system

ok so basicly my dad orderd a new wireless card for me it said it was compatiable and all but shortly after using it it over heated and then my system started acting up now its telling me master boot record error press a key. but then will let me load my os with no problem what so ever(at leaste my xp i havnt tried with my expired windows 7 trial that i havnt had time to delete)

i uninstalled the drivers from the wireless card and went back to my old as it severly screwed up my system running the new and now im noticing some bad sectors in my hard drive iv already had to run chkdsk trwice with the /r peramater and now it seems to be working for the most part but its still a little buggy when comes to deleting things and what not


is it possible that this new wireless card screwed up my system or my bios or is it just that my hard drive is dying as i got it used from a follow member of these forums

 

I would say the hard drive's toasted. I would never buy a used HDD like that, sorry! lol. You could try a complete clean reinstall of Windows, though. A pain, I know, but worth a shot. Reformat that baby.

I doubt the card would cause that match damage.. you say the computer overheated. Hmmm.. perhaps bad ventilation?

 

no the wireless is a one of those small usb sticks and most of the problems have been fixed after several check discs now i just need to run one from the other hard drive and ill be done
