Script Error-firefox

Been getting this script error after installing mozilla firefox for the past 4 months. Mainly happens when I use facebook. Freezes up other browsers as well. Is there a fix for this? I have uninstalled and re-installed firefox 3 x. Thanks in advance.

The issue may well be caused by script from Adobe Flash Player. The latest version is: 21.0.0.213
First of all check to see if you have it in your Firefox Plug Ins via:
Tools > Add ons > Plugins > Shockwave Flash (NOT shockwave for Director player that is differemt)
Then have a look to the RIGHT firstly click on OPTIONS and it will tell you the version you have. Make sure you have the one ending in '213', if not update it from the link above.
Secondly look to the right of that with options of 'activation'. Change the option to 'ASK TO ACTIVATE'
Because many many sites use Flash - whether it is content you want to see or not - by making your plug in option 'ask to activate' it will only run for content that you WANT to see.
That will reduce script lagging.

NB: Also using extensions for AD BLOCKING, such as AdBlock Plus
or UBlock Origin
will significantly reduce the amount of script loaded in any web page

 

SHockawave is the same version or most recent. I changed to ask to activate. I'll update you if it continues. Thanks for your assistance.

 

Haven't got a script error yet, but firefox is still super slow and when I open more than one browser and I move my cursor over mozilla icon on the lower task bar (all the windows have a small revolving circle). some videos on news pages won't load as well.

 

As a troubleshooting step Restart Firefoc with Addons Disabled - and see if the slowness problem continues:

the videos are working...still a little laggy, but not hanging

 

If it is working 'better' with Firefox addons disabled then you need to follow that guide to see if any one of the addons (extensions or themes) is causing problems.
Check whether you are getting the same problems when you use a different web browser, eg Internet Explorer, Chrome etc

 

OK will do. I know it doesn't happen with IE. I have a feeling it is Avira. thanks

 

I only have 3 add ons..I disabled the avira browser add on and it seems to be working fine
