Hi, this is a continuation of http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=247917

I have a SCSI card installed in my PCI slot. It recognizes one device (Nikon LS-2000 scanner) but doesn't recognize the other device (Canon FS-4000US). Both power on. Both work. One is recognized by the SCSI utility and works just fine. The other doesn't even show up in the SCSI utility (much like the BIOS utility, accessed at startup with the same graphical interface). It also doesn't show up in the device manager.
    Details:
I can use the same cord to plug in the Canon as the Nikon, no change.
I can use a cord to the Nikon, then another to the Canon, no change.
I can use a cord to the Canon, then another to the Nikon, no change. Yet I can still use the Nikon.

    Any ideas?
The Canon also has USB 1.1, but that's horribly slow, almost to the point of being unusable. So slow that sometimes the session times out and the scan doesn't finish when on my desktop, but if I run it to my laptop and disconnect all other USB devices it does work as you'd expect it too, slowly.

Basically, if I can't get the device to be seen by the SCSI utility is there any hope in getting this to work?

The software I'm using is Vuescan FYI on a Windows 7 64 bit OS. Vuescan has the drivers embeded, but I'm assuming it's not doing much good since the Canon isn't being detected.
SCSI card is an Adaptec AHA2930CU running on emulated drivers for Adaptec AIC7870.

If I can remember correctly the last device on a scsi card has to be terminated. Is there anything mentioned in the manual regarding termination?

:-o:-o:-o In my search for the manual I went to Canon's site and noticed it said
Interface - USB1.1/SCSI-2; Connectors: USB connector x 1slot/SCSI half-pitch 50-pin (Use interface switch on bottom panel.)
I turned the scanner over, removed a rubber cover, switched it from USB to SCSI, turned the ID number to 1 (which self terminates) and I'm now scanning. Thanks. I should have RTFM in the first place. Sheesh, what a noob I feel like.

    Thanks
    Dan
