    Hey all...
I am finally building that SCSI box that I have been wanting and I'm excited about it... only problem is that this is one of the areas of the PC that I know very little.

So, I have the box built - P4 3.2, Asus P4P800 mobo, GB Corsair 3200, etc... and a pair of Seagate Cheetah 18.2Gb Ultra2 Scsi Model ST118202LC drives with a HP RAID adapter and two controllers. I'm intending on configuring them in RAID 0.

Trying to boot and I the drives spin up and I get to the RAID config screen and the drives aren't seen anywhere. System setup doesn't see them, RAID utility doesn't and Seagate diskwizard doesn't either.

I'm going to look at HP for a boot utility and/or drives for the controllers.

Anyone know about the P4P800 board and if there is a jumper or something I'm missing that is not allowing the drives to be seen? It's a board with SATA connectors on board, so I'm thinking that there may be a jumper issue... I just downloaded the manual and going to scour it... thought I'd see if anyone has any experience with this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

It's most likely that you plugged in the scsi drives incorrectly. Did you make sure to terminate the ends? It won't work if you don't. In fact I think it would cause them to not even be recognized.

The connector cable is terminated. The system is recognizing the drives, to some degree because I am being prompted to start the RAID config. I think what I need is raid drivers from HP.

    The numbers?

The way this is set up is I have a PCI RAID controller which connects to the SCSI adapters which plug directly in to the drives. The adapters have the jumpers on them that need to be set and I have them at 1 and 2. I tried them at 0 and 1 earlier... I'm just guessing, to be honest. Nothing I can find online troubleshoots a configuration like this one, so I can't find any answers.
