I am looking at replacing This

Its Ultra Fast Wide (68-pin SCA-2), I need a replacement drive

    I was thinking This

And using a converter for the SCSI connection, If anyone could verify that it is possible I would appreciate it, im not to sure about the different voltage requirements and such.

I think This Might be a better option for a replacement since its ultra320

What is your SCSI adapter. I could hook you up with a 73GB Seagate 10k drive and matching adapter, cable and terminator for about the prices you are looking at here if the guy hasn't already sold it. LMK.

He hasn't sold it. It is a Seagate ST373307LC Introduced 3rd quarter 2002. And he has an LSI U160 single channel PCI adapter for LVD drives with cable, SCA adapter and terminator. AFAIK, it has only seen a short time in service and works perfectly.

Here is some info I looked up on it when I was considering buying it. I'd have it now if I didn't have too much tied up in my system already..

    Factory Specs:

    Seek time 4.7ms read/5.3ms write.

    INTERNAL FORMATTED TRANSFER RATE (MB/sec) - 59 to 105

    Storage Review Test - 4th quarter 2002:

Seek: (latency subtracted) 5.0 read/8.3 write (best in class at the time - 2002)

Thruput: Begin- 69.0 End- 40.4 MB/sec. (also best in class at the time) - this is the result relevant to host adapters. Peak data rate is 69 MB/sec. The LSI U160 controller has plenty of headroom. For reference: The fastest current SATA 7200rpm drive's tested thruput is identical (because the platters are higher density) while the seek time is in the low double-digits (12.x up).

All other measuerements on the Seagate were either 1st or 2nd.

He may drop in here and post. I told him about this thread.
