SD Card Reader (Windows 7 64-bit)

    I have tried everything I can think of to get this card reader to work.:confused

    I installed the drivers again from the HP website and nothing happens. I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment Notebook dv6-1030us
    . I have windows 7 64 bit on this laptop also.


    Any advice?

    HI

    Check in Device Manager for any yellow ! marks by any device and if any let us know what they are?

    When you reinstalled the drivers, was this just the card reader driver or the Chipset and then the Card Reader> if not try this install the Chipset driver and reboot, crucial to reboot, then install the card reader drivers again,

    Also do you have any ISO mounting software installed, eg. MagicISO etc, if so uninstall and test.

    There are two different card readers in the dv6-1030us model.
    Have you tried both the JMicron and the Realtek?

    What brand and size of sd card are you trying to read? What is the class of the card?

    Ok so I tried what both of you advised. I installed the chipset and rebooted then installed the drivers one at a time. When I install one I remove the other driver.

    I have a Samsung Micro SD Card

    I also noticed that I didn't see the J micron driver in device manager, but I do see Realtek

    Try a normal size sd card. I had a holder for a micro sdhc card go bad.
    Also what size is the card in GB? What class like 2, 4, 10 is printed on the card?

    I tried a 1g SD impact and it worked instantly. I guess it was the actuall card. Thanks guys!!
