    Hi,

My hubby has a Samsung Galaxy 9 with a Sandisk 32 g card on which he keeps his life. He last uploaded it in February but hasn't since then. He took a photo and wanted to view it in the gallery and at first, he could see the photos in the gallery, but when he selected them, it was just gray. He tried to take another picture and then got an error message that the card was not compatible and to reformat it. He then tried to go back to the gallery and there were no pictures at all. We then tried to read the card in a laptop and the laptop won't recognize it. He did some searching on youtube U and read that he should try and reformat the card but the phone won't even reformat it. Anyone know of a way to get the photos off of the card or how to get a device to read it?

Any help greatly appreciated, lots of photos we would like to keep on there.

    Tammy

I have a Samsung J3 Emerge. It has an internal card on which the photos are stored. I don't sync with anything and I don't upload them to the cloud. It might make a difference if he does one of those things. (I do store copies on other devices.)

I turn the phone on and connect my phone to one of my Windows 7 computers and when the message pops up on the phone screen to allow access, I tap Allow.

Next I open Windows Explorer. I expand the phone, I expand the sd card. I expand DCIM, and last I click on Camera. The photos should appear in the right pane of Windows Explorer.

If they do, copy the photos from Windows Explorer to the desktop of the computer. Don't move because if something goes wrong, the pictures are lost. If you copy and something goes wrong, the pictures are still on the phone and you can attempt to copy them again.
Once he is sure they are copied and he has opened them to be sure they are okay, it is safe to format the card. Truthfully, it sounds like there might be a problem with the card. If it were me, I'd probably get a new card and use the old card to store anything that isn't too important. (I keep 2 and 3 copies of things so I might use it as storage for the 3rd copy of something.)

My problem is that the card can't be read at all by the phone or my laptop....anyone know of anywhere that might be able to read it?
