SD Mount Rushormore, etc

We are thinking about taking a vacation to South Dakota, visitng Mount Rushmore and other attractions with our children before they all move out.lol
We want to do some planning, but some just driving and stopping, too.

We will be camping, not staying in motels.
I have done some searching, but my mind is overflowing right now.
Any ideas from people who have went there would sure be appreciated. Some ideas of things to see? Places to camp that are cheaper? Ideas like this.
