Seanau Icon Toolkit Help ?

Downloaded and in process of trying to use subject program (SIT).
When 'import' a .jpg image it only displays part of the image, and cant find a way to 'expand' the window/frame around the image etc.
Havent found a 'manual' yet.

Thoughts ?

Any other suggestions for a good/free icon editor/creator(from jpgs etc) ?
Nothing fancy needed.

Ps: Tried to leave a comment at the MG download page for SIT, but still trying figure out how to get Disqus to work. Will keep working on that one.

In SIT, Original Size is selected by default. Click to unselect it. It may/may not work.

Will try GIEP and compare.

When import with SIT, it shows a 48x48 choice (and no way to unselect, that could find), but when click ok, it comes in and the frame is very small (like 1/20 of the display window) and doesnt include the entire jpg image (although the entire image is moving around and expands in the little frame when use keyboard arrows and menu +sign... ie can still only see a little piece of the image), and no apparent way to expand the image frame to see the entire image (terminology may be off, but hope the idea is there).

Ps: Yes, did get Disqus or something to work.
Something about 'login', but seemed like didnt use my actual Disqus login (reset prior to trying again)... more like just using MG login.
But do see the 'default avatar' which is what I setup at the Disqus profile, so something must have worked.

Whatever the reason I will try to get the old greycells to remember next time how it happened.

 

I don't often do this, but I did download and install Seanau Icon Toolkit. I tried importing images of different sizes, some displayed the actual size, and some I could not get to display the actual size. I wouldn't waste time battling with such software.

Have downloaded GIEP and it worked for what currently needed.
Fyi, previously tried to use old iICO from when used XP (and it worked well back then, but looks like its not now available) and it didnt seem to work with W7, so got out on the look.
Think GIEP may be the W7 alternative.
