My first post, only an average user so please be patient. My simple but agravating problem is when I double click on some of my shortcuts, the search window opens instead of the program or folder. If anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated. I am running Win-Xp. Thanks.

this typically happens when a shortcut exists for a program, file, or folder that no longer exists (deleted, uninstalled) or has been moved from the location in which the shortcut points to.

Thanks for any help offered. Found the solution in a computer magazine. The solution is to click "start" then click "run" type in "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll" (without quotes) and click "OK" Fixes problem of search window opening when doubleclicking on a folder.
