Search window opens every few seconds

Hi
I have a strange problem with XP. Every few seconds a search window opens.
It opens in whatever program I am using at the time, be it Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer.
I have run Adaware, Hijackthis etc, and can find no obvious cause.
This problem has only occurred in the last couple of days, and I have made no major or unusual changes to the OS or settings in the last few weeks.
Any ideas?

Wow! That sounds highly annoying!
If you haven't done any recent updates or installed any new programs lately or changed any settings, it does seem like it might be a malware-related problem.

Believe me it is annoying!
I've run Adaware in safe mode; BHOdemon, Hijackthis, and Spybot, but can find nothing.
veins pulsing in temples....
teeth clenching......
one eyelid palpitating....
no idea!

You might try downloading this, http://www.majorgeeks.com/Process_Explorer_d4566.html, and when the explorer window opens use this to see what application is opening explorer. Hope this helps.
