second hard drive

I've had some problems with my PC involving "MUP" and i couldn't access windows as the PC just hung when staring up, so i have brought and installed a second primary hard drive and i can now access my old drive "slave"
Whats the best way of arranging my files i want all data on the slave and programes on the primary, as my old data is already accessable on the slave can i just literally delete all my old programe files from that drive, leaving all music pictures etc. or should i be uninstalling things correctly?
i was thinking of transfering everything on to the new drive formating the old drive and putting all data files back on, however i feel this could be a piontless exercise if i can just delete everthing i don't need
any tips?

 

formatting would definitely be the smartest and most efficient way of preserving the integrity of the drive..just deleting stuff will always leave all sorts of crap behind and could lead to data corruption and loss of your important files at a later date.

XP but other than using partition magic, i can only format the drive if i put a fresh copy of windows on

 

What is "MUP"?

 

not really sure, it's an important part the of windows reg, all the experts that i have spoke to say there is not real cure if it's corrupt, and that reinstalling windows is the only real solution!

 

I think I've learned that MUP=multiple UNC provider. rolleyes
